Cofersa (Construcciones Ferrusola S.A.) fabricó motocicletas entre 1954 y 1962, equipándolas con motores Hispano Villiers de 125 y 200 cc.
El modelo aquí expuesto es el primero de la marca: el 125, presentado en 1954. Para diferenciarse de las numerosas competidoras que utilizaban el mismo motor, Cofersa apostó por un diseño alargado y estilizado que le confería una personalidad propia.
Durante su primer año de producción, se fabricaron 94 unidades. Las ventas aumentaron significativamente al año siguiente con el lanzamiento del modelo de 200 cc. En 1956, la marca presentó el modelo JM, alcanzando en ese momento su máximo esplendor con una plantilla de casi 100 empleados.
Sin embargo, la llamada «Crisis del 600» no perdonó, y Cofersa desapareció en 1962 tras haber fabricado aproximadamente 6.000 motocicletas.

The model displayed here is the brand’s first: the 125, introduced in 1954. To stand out from the numerous competitors using the same engine, Cofersa opted for an elongated and streamlined design that gave it a distinct character.
In its first year of production, 94 units were built. Sales increased significantly the following year with the launch of the 200 cc model. In 1956, the brand introduced the JM model, reaching its peak at that time with a workforce of nearly 100 employees.
However, the so-called «600 Crisis» took its toll, and Cofersa ceased operations in 1962 after producing approximately 6,000 motorcycles.
