Hablar de la historia de Casa Calleja es remontarse a tiempos duros, de necesidad, en el periodo de entreguerras en Europa, y en los albores de la Guerra Civil española. 

 
Si bien Calleja llevaba funcionando como tienda de venta, alquiler y reparación de bicicletas desde 1921, Casa Calleja surge como tal y bajo ese nombre definitivo en los años treinta, concretamente en 1935. Jamás hubiera imaginado su fundador haber llegado tan lejos y perdurado tantos años cuando, montado en su bicicleta con apenas 12 años, repartía paquetes por el Madrid de los años 30. A pesar de las duras vicisitudes de ese convulso tiempo, Casa Calleja tiene el orgullo de haber conservado intacta la Licencia de Apertura de su tienda concedida por el Ayuntamiento de Madrid de la II República, con fecha 5 de marzo de 1935. 
 
D. Jesús Redondo Calleja empezó a trabajar en 1944 (a la edad de 12 años) como ayudante en un alquiler de bicicletas sito en la C/Embajadores 63, propiedad de su tío. En aquellos días el medio de locomoción más habitual era la bicicleta. Allí alquilaban, vendían y reparaban bicicletas llegando incluso a montar ellos mismos algunas más especiales (bicicletas para profesionales).
 A pesar de todos los cambios y mejoras realizados para adaptarse a los nuevos tiempos, Casa Calleja nunca ha dejado de ser una empresa familiar.  
 
En 1987 cambiaron el aspecto de la tienda y se trasladaron al local actual de la C/Embajadores, 59. 
 
En 1992 se incorpora a la empresa Don Luis García quien, durante 8 años, trabaja hombro con hombro con Don Jesús para modernizar, diversificar y hacer crecer las líneas de negocio de Casa Calleja.
En el año 2000, tras toda una vida dedicada por completo al servicio de la moto y el motorista, Don Jesús se toma un merecido descanso y pasa a dirigir el negocio Don Luis García. 
 
En 2002 y debido a la creciente demanda de sus clientes, inauguran la boutique especializada. En la misma calle Embajadores 57, al lado de la emblemática tienda de recambios para la moto, un espacio de 400m2 suministra a todos los motoristas con los mejores productos y las mejores marcas del sector al mejor precio.
 
A partir de ese momento empiezan a dar forma a la idea de poder montar en sus dependencias el recambio. De manera que en 2007 inauguran su taller.

The history of Casa Calleja takes us back to difficult times, marked by hardship and necessity, in the interwar period in Europe and the early days of the Spanish Civil War.

Although Calleja had been operating as a shop for selling, renting, and repairing bicycles since 1921, Casa Calleja officially emerged under its definitive name in the 1930s, specifically in 1935. Its founder could never have imagined how far the business would go or how long it would endure when, at just 12 years old, he cycled through the streets of 1930s Madrid, delivering parcels. Despite the challenges of such turbulent times, Casa Calleja proudly retains its original Operating Licence, granted by the Madrid City Council of the Second Spanish Republic on 5 March 1935.

Don Jesús Redondo Calleja began working in 1944, at the age of 12, as an assistant in a bicycle rental shop located at Calle Embajadores 63, owned by his uncle. At the time, bicycles were the most common form of transport. The shop not only rented, sold, and repaired bicycles but also assembled their own, including special models for professional cyclists.

Despite all the changes and improvements made over the years to adapt to modern times, Casa Calleja has never ceased to be a family-run business.

In 1987, the store underwent a transformation and relocated to its current premises at Calle Embajadores 59.

In 1992, Don Luis García joined the company and worked alongside Don Jesús for eight years, modernising, diversifying, and expanding Casa Calleja’s business operations. In 2000, after dedicating his entire life to the service of motorbikes and motorcyclists, Don Jesús took a well-earned retirement, passing the leadership of the business to Don Luis García.

In 2002, responding to growing customer demand, Casa Calleja opened a specialist boutique. Located at Calle Embajadores 57, right next to the iconic motorcycle parts store, this 400m² space provides motorcyclists with the finest products and top brands in the industry at the best prices.

From that moment, they began developing the idea of providing in-store part installation services. As a result, in 2007, they opened their workshop, completing their vision of offering motorcyclists a comprehensive service for both rider and machine.
